“These awards are the result of laboratory testing in the Good Housekeeping Research Institute (GHRI). Using an industry standard drop tester, we drop toys for children ages 8 and under to ensure they don’t break into small pieces that could pose a choking hazard to young children. Our GHRI engineers conduct a safety review, confirming toys have met all ASTM requirements and/or other appropriate certifications. And all of our winners have passed kid evaluations—dozens of children visit our labs over four days and, after hours of playing, choose their favorites.”
